The Accounting Certificate is for students who possess an undergraduate degree but would like to re-tool to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam. Applicants entering this certificate program would be seeking a career in accounting.

The Special Education: Adapted Curriculum K-12 concentration is for those who will work with students with complex disabilities who require an individualized, adapted curriculum and specialized supports to gain access to the general education curriculum and learn within K-12 general education settings.

African American Studies is an interdisciplinary field that explores and critically examines the unique cultural, political, economic, and historical experiences of African Americans.

Anthropologists work in a myriad of organizations with dynamic, fast-paced jobs that lean into the scientific background, knowledge, and skills learned in the program. Whether in a lab, at a desk, or in the field - your skills in anthropology will give you broad opportunities in commerce, research, and service opportunities.

The Applied History minor gives students the opportunity to gain knowledge and acquire skills that will enable them to pursue careers in a variety of professions related to the practice of history.

Students are required to take at least 30 credit hours of general education designated courses within their degree requirements. The Astronomy minor includes 11 general education credits.

The Master of Science in Athletic Training Program develops students’ expertise in sports medicine and athletic healthcare. The program offers clinical experiences in settings such as high schools, colleges, industrial, esports, and performing arts that will help prepare you for board certification as an athletic trainer. 

The Certificate of Autism Studies is designed to prepare personnel to educate and support individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), which includes autism, Asperger syndrome, and other pervasive developmental disorders.

This minor fulfills the R area of the REAL Curriculum. Students fulfill the R area through classes requiring students to apply quantitative and scientific information to test problems to draw conclusions and to generate scientific and quantitative knowledge.

This minor fulfills the A area of the REAL Curriculum The cinematic arts minor allows students to explore formalist, historical, and cultural analysis of cinema and other screen media.

A degree in communication at Radford University will prepare you to develop special knowledge and skills in regard to conflict, relationships, public relations, political campaigns, and more. Our concentrations are Public Relations and Communication Studies. Majors choose one of these to pursue as a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree.

The minor in Communication consists of 18 credit hours in COMS courses.

The Crime Analysis and Criminal Intelligence minor is designed to provide theoretical, conceptual, and practical background for crime analysis and criminal intelligence.

The Criminal Justice minor provides students with the background for understanding crime, its causes, portions of the criminal justice system and their responses to crime, as well as researching crime.

"Design Studies in Professional Practice Minor provides students the opportunity to prepare and identify career opportunities within the design profession or an allied field. Students apply knowledge acquired within the field and professional interactions to reflect on their experiences. Students learn about practicing design in a global market and understanding the elements of business practices.Learning experiences within the minor include: professional resume and cover letter preparation, applying active listening skills an interviewing techniques, producing clear objectives and goals to inform their professional career path, and identify career opportunities within the design fashion/interiors profession and/or allied professions. In addition, students will learn how to leverage their professional skills within the context of community service work."

The minor in Emergency Services is open to all majors and provides an opportunity for students to learn critical thinking skills in the emergency environment, while exploring evidence-based practice modalities.

The Minor in Entrepreneurship is open to all majors except management majors. It provides students an opportunity to learn the innovation skills and mindset needed to effectively create and manage their own business or to execute intrapreneurial projects in existing organizations.

The Family Nurse Practitioner concentration of the D.N.P. program prepares graduates with the knowledge and skills to synthesize and apply theories, clinical reasoning, and research in the treatment of individuals, families and groups across the lifespan.

The B.F.A. in Art with a concentration in graphic design encompasses the full scope of visual communication. Students learn how to create powerful images using a combination of illustration, typography, photography, and digital manipulation. Graphic design students develop the software skills and problem-solving skills needed to succeed in this exciting profession.

Graphic design techniques including the concept-driven design process and proficiencies in the 'tools of the trade', namely the Adobe software suite, have become an important skill set in many business and technological career fields. The Graphic Design Minor addresses this need offering students in other disciplines the opportunity to obtain a working knowledge of the basic principles of graphic design while gaining proficiency in Adobe programs such as Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. Successful completion of the Graphic Design Minor should enhance the student's employability and upward mobility in the workplace.

The Literacy Education program equips educators to serve as literacy leaders in the K-12 setting and offers educators an opportunity to earn endorsement credentials to become Reading Specialists in Virginia. We pride ourselves in providing our graduates with all the skills they need to help all students develop essential literacy skills through culturally responsive curriculum and instruction. We offer two pathways to become and endorsed Reading Specialist in Virginia – M.S. in Literacy Education, 30 hours, six semesters or Reading Specialist Certificate for teachers who already have an education-related master’s degree, 24 hours, five semesters.

Mathematics is needed to solve a variety of real-world problems, not only in physical science and engineering, but also in computing, business, economics, medicine, social sciences, and many other fields. Obtaining a minor in mathematics will enhance your prospects in many careers. Our minor courses expose students to mathematical content necessary for application to a variety of different fields.

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree prepares graduates for the professional roles of registered nurses and includes coursework in leadership, nursing research, and community health nursing. Graduates of the B.S.N. program are prepared to deliver and evaluate quality patient care while demonstrating clinical competency, critical thinking skills, and patient advocacy.

The Professional Writing Graduate Certificate is an online program that can be completed in one calendar year when the courses are taken consecutively. It's designed to help working professionals and graduate students strengthen their professional, technical, business, and digital writing skills and stay competitive in the workforce.

The purpose of this minor is to provide students with a solid foundation in the critical areas of financial decision making in real estate and insurance planning. This minor includes coverage of the basic topics important to gaining and maintaining personal financial independence and building a solid financial future.

The School Psychology program at Radford emphasizes training in comprehensive service delivery and understanding student and family needs. Importance is placed on intervention development and delivery, advocacy and data-driven and ethical decision-making.

The Social Justice Minor provides interdisciplinary exploration into understanding and working towards social justice. The minor explores social justice from a variety of disciplines, voices, and perspectives. Students have the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills to reduce oppression and inequity, and utilize critical thinking to challenge bias. A social justice minor compliments a variety of disciplines, offering the graduate practical skills and knowledge applicable for everyday life.

The Sport Management minor introduces students to a variety of topics within the sport industry.

The Visual Impairment concentration is for teachers who already hold a license in special education and would like to become certified to teach students with visual impairments and blindness.

The Women's and Gender Studies Minor provides an interdisciplinary and global perspective on women, their contributions to society, the effects of systemic inequalities on their lives, and their activism to create social change. It affords students a solid grounding in critical thinking concerning gender as an analytic category. Graduates have either gone on to graduate programs or have found related work in fields such as education, social services, healthcare, and counseling.
